GarageBand File for “Staying Up.” (68 MB .zip)

A handful of people have tweeted and emailed about wanting to get a copy of the GarageBand file for this week’s Found My Place song, “Staying Up” that they could play with, add to, remix, or what-have-you.

I’m super-honored by the interest and am more than happy to avail.

You can grab a 68 MB .zip of the .band file from here, and then, off you go.

It’s a very simple, mostly loop-based tune, so I think all my initial tracks should be pretty self-explanatory.

I’m giving this a Creative Commons BY-NC-SA license (more down here), which means you’re free to build what you like with it, provided you credit me (“BY”), don’t sell it or use it for other commercial purposes (“NC”), and agree to share alike by letting others use and build upon your own additions under these same terms (“SA”).

Have fun, go nuts, and please let me know what you make with it, because I’d love to hear it.

In fact, I’ll keep trackbacks and comments on this post open for a few days, so you can point me to your new and improved version. Time permitting, I’ll put together a post here linking to the best and most interesting results.

Here is my remix for "Staying Up". Thanks for bringing the Synthpop. I have to come up with a better saying. That did not sound hardcore.
